Announcing Carolina Brochado and Teddie Wardi as our newest Partners

As Europe’s technology ecosystem goes from strength to strength, we’re looking for the most ambitious founders who are — through disruptive technology — building companies that are poised to become global category winners. To find them, we’ve built a world-class investment team who, through their local knowledge, extensive networks and deep sector expertise, help us to find and partner with these entrepreneurs.

Today, we’re very proud to announce the promotions of Carolina Brochado and Teddie Wardi to Partners at Atomico, showing that we can both develop and attract the best investing talent. Carolina and Teddie have a deep understanding of the sectors and trends shaping Europe’s technology ecosystem. Over the last few years they have led the way in sourcing and due diligence for many of our most promising portfolio companies, while partnering with our founders to add real value when it counts.

We take a long term view so we believe in developing talent from within. Having initially joined us in 2012 while studying her MBA at Columbia, Carolina returned to Atomico in 2014 following a COO role at a London-based e-commerce startup. Since then she has invested in companies in Europe, Asia, the US and her native Latin America.

Carolina has spent her entire career working with and backing founders and management teams across the world — including through Corporate Finance and Private Equity at multi-billion firm, Madison Dearborn. With extensive experience in financial services, and consumer / retail, particularly marketplaces, her recent investments include LendInvest, Farmdrop, Gympass and Uniplaces. She also sits on the Boards of Chemist Direct and Bebê Store.

Teddie co-founded Nervogrid when he was 23, a leading SaaS based cloud service management platform, which was acquired by the publicly listed IT distribution group ALSO. An experienced investor prior to Atomico, Teddie joined us in early 2016 from Dawn Capital where he was a VP and already focused on SaaS investing, leading investments into companies including Showpad, Collibra, Automile, LeadDesk and Conversocial. Prior to this he was also at Nokia Growth Partners. As a former founder CTO, an MBA graduate of Harvard Business School and with a long track record of investing in the space, Teddie has deep expertise in SaaS and enterprise software.

Teddie’s recent investments include Bitmovin for which he sits on the Board, and he also works closely with Truecaller, Klarna and Quid. Teddie hails from Finland and spends much of his time in the Nordics, Baltics and Benelux identifying the most promising companies and ambitious founders.

We’re proud to promote Teddie and Carolina as Partners in our firm and we can’t wait to support the founders they identify as the next global winners.
