Alexis Dormandy

Alexis is a Partner at Atomico, where he helps portfolio companies with their growth strategy and scaling, and evaluates new investment opportunities.

Growth has been a big part of Alexis’ career, having spent a large part of his early working life at Virgin where he ended up as the Group Director responsible for new businesses. He was a founding Director at both Virgin Mobile and Virgin Active, and sat on their boards for a number of years. Alexis subsequently became VP Consumer and Chief Marketing Officer at Orange, which grew to become the #1 mobile operator in the UK under his watch. He then spent six years as Operating Partner at Candover, a large European private equity firm, and as European Chairman of RED, the AIDS charity founded by Bono.

Most recently, Alexis has been Executive Chairman for a number of digital businesses, and is currently Chairman of Wattbike, the world’s most advanced indoor bike.

Having originally trained as a doctor, Alexis has become the first port-of-call for all those at Atomico feeling the Monday morning strain after a weekend of bike riding and marathon running.
