Hiro Tamura

Hiro currently leads investment review, negotiation, and transaction execution for Atomico. He is also active in deal origination and advises portfolio companies on international strategy.

Prior to Atomico, Hiro was co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of SP&W, a principal investment and advisory company. He successfully led the advisory practice for partnership strategy, mergers and acquisitions and cross border financing for clients, with a focus on telecommunication, media and technology. Hiro has advised prominent technology companies on global strategic initiatives, including Skype. With Skype, Hiro spent time working with the management team in Europe on regional/global partnership strategies for the Company.

Previous to SP&W, Hiro spent 5 years building up the financial advisory franchise for IRG, a boutique investment bank dedicated to technology, media, and telecommunications. Hiro joined IRG from Lehman Brothers, where he worked in International Equity Sales. During his time at Lehman, he was involved in the sale of Pacific Internet, the first Asian Internet company to list on Nasdaq in the US, as well as the listings of chinadotcom, Korea Thrunet, and several other offerings originating from Asia.

Hiro received a BA in Economics and International Studies from Northwestern University.
