Carlos Pires

Carlos is based in Brazil as part of Atomico's international network, where he assists Atomico portfolio companies to expand into Latin America.

Carlos has spent over 15 years helping telecommunications and technology companies to set up their operations and grow their businesses. He has significant experience on defining strategy, advising on regulatory issues and establishing the right partnerships in Latin America.

Prior to joining Atomico, Carlos helped companies such as Nextel, MComcast, Openwave Systems, Iona Technologies and most recently, Skype, to initiate their businesses in the region. During his time at Skype, Carlos served as the Market Development Manager for Latin America helping to launch consumer services that grew revenue. He also assisted with the regulatory strategy, identifying and negotiating commercial partnerships and public relations within the region.
