Mattias is a Partner at Atomico, and is primarily focused on sourcing new investments, portfolio management, leading Atomico’s outreach programs and deal pipeline management. In 2006, he helped Niklas launch Atomico, and was responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing all of the investments in Fund I, in addition to more recently leading deal sourcing in Fund II.
Prior to helping launch Atomico, Mattias was the head of investments at CLS Holdings where he was responsible for the sale of Sit Up TV for $360 million in 2005. He has also worked for the strategy and M&A consultancy LEK, which is a principal advisor to the private equity industry. During this time Mattias worked on numerous M&A transactions for private equity firms, blue chip corporates and early stage start-ups. He started his career at Valu-Trac, an institutional fund management firm with $1 billion under management focused on global asset allocations, which he joined in 1996. He currently sits on the board of Seesmic, MadBid, Fabricly, Memolane, ChemistDirect, and Playfire. Mattias holds a Masters from the Stockholm School of Economics and a BA with Honors from McGill University.
